Richard is developing a documentary for PBS on the first class of women combat aviators. This follows his work as Senior Producer/Narrator for the 2013 documentary GUNS IN AMERICA. Previously, Richard was managing editor of “Inside E Street," a weekly public affairs broadcast produced by AARP. He previously worked as interim managing editor and as director of afternoon news programming at NPR, where he supervised “All Things Considered,” “Talk of the Nation” and “Tell Me More.” Before joining NPR he spent 19 years as senior producer for ABC News’ “Nightline” and was also senior producer for “This Week.” He has collaborated with former “Nightline” anchor Ted Koppel at the Discovery Channel on a town meeting on the collision between national security and civil liberties in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.
