Kathy most recently was Washington news director for Bloomberg Politics, and before that, managing editor at the Sunlight Foundation, where she worked with reporters and data experts to empower other journalists and citizens with tools and resources to reveal the inner workings of government and politics. Before joining Sunlight in 2011, she was managing editor for politics at National Journal, where she helped assemble and train a joint multimedia campaign coverage team for National Journal and CBS News, and she spent almost a dozen years reporting on Congress and national politics for USA Today. She has covered every presidential campaign since 1980. Kathy previously headed Washington bureaus for The Houston Post and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, was a White House correspondent for the New York Daily News, and worked at The Pittsburgh Press.
