Jim is a Washington-based editor at the Associated Press, where he has worked for more than 20 years.  From 1981 until 1998 he was a reporter covering the Iran-Contra scandal, foreign policy, intelligence matters, Congress and money and politics.  In 1998 he joined USA Today, where he reported on political fundraising, finances, and politics.  He returned to the AP in 2006.
