Walt Mossberg

Walt is a veteran technology columnist, reviewer, and conference producer. He is executive editor of The Verge and editor at large at Recode, tech-related websites owned by Vox Media, and writes weekly columns for both. He also has a weekly podcast, Ctrl-Walt-Delete, and co-produces the Code Conference, an annual tech industry event. Before starting Recode in 2014 with his longtime business partner, Kara Swisher, Walt spent more than 40 years at The Wall Street Journal, initially covering national and international affairs in Washington before creating the weekly “Personal Technology” column, which ran for 22 years. He was also the co-creator and co-producer of “D: All Things Digital,” an annual conference for the technology industry, and was co-executive editor of the website allthingsd.com, which extended the experience of the D Conference to the internet. The first technology writer to win the Gerald Loeb Award for commentary, he appears regularly on television and radio as a commentator on tech issues.
