Don Bartletti

Los Angeles Times (retired)

Don is a staff photographer for the Los Angeles Times, where he has worked since 1983. His photos of Central American youths trying to reach the United States by riding through Mexico atop freight trains won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography in 2003. A photojournalist since 1977, when he began his career at The San Diego Union-Tribune, he frequently lectures on immigration at universities and civic organizations. His award-winning images have been exhibited in museums across the United States and Mexico.
