Jennifer “Jay” is a news editor for broadcast and digital at WNYC public radio. She is also a columnist for Columbia Journalism Review, where she analyzes how the media reports on social minority issues. Previously, she was editor in chief of MTV Networks’ gay news website, 365gay.com. She also wrote a nationally syndicated newspaper column on LGBT politics and culture for 15 years. Her work has appeared in outlets, including The Village Voice, the Chicago Tribune, TimeOut and the Huffington Post. She created a class on freelance journalism that she taught at the University of Chicago Graham School and has spoken to high school and college students about journalism.
