As a deputy weekend editor, Julie Bloom oversees the weekend digital operations at The New York Times. She was previously based in Paris as editor of the Culture section at The International New York Times, directing culture coverage, digitally and in print, across Europe. Julie began freelancing for the Times in 2006 and joined the staff as a culture arts producer in 2007. In 2010 she was named an assistant editor on the Culture desk, where she was responsible for digital and multimedia reporting, oversaw the ArtsBeat blog and edited coverage of dance. She has also worked as an editor and writer at Jane Magazine and Radar Magazine.
