Jim Pensiero was formerly editor for talent at The Wall Street Journal, responsible for the hiring, development and training of news department staff members worldwide. He began his journalism career at the Herald News in Passaic, N.J., and worked at the Philadelphia Bulletin, Time Inc. and the Associated Press before joining the Journal as a copy editor in 1984. His roles since then include national copy chief, deputy national editor, news editor, assistant managing editor, vice president of news operations and vice president of special projects. He was named a deputy managing editor at the Journal in 2008.
