Jamie was a senior staff writer at Al Jazeera America. A native of Australia, she has lived in and reported from the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and the United States for over 15 years. Jamie has written for National Journal, TheAtlantic.com, Reuters, Marie Claire, the Associated Press and "Dispatches: Beyond Iraq." As NPR’s Baghdad bureau chief from 2005 to 2007, she contributed to the reporting that won an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award in 2007 for coverage of the war in Iraq. She is the author of “A Crazy Occupation: Eyewitness to the Intifada,” published in 2006.
